Frank Klingebiel in brief.
Frank Klingebiel (born 9 June 1964 in Salzgitter) has been Mayor of the City of Salzgitter since 1 November 2006 and is considered the longest-serving Mayor in Lower Saxony. He is a qualified financial economist, married and the father of two children.
Before his election as Mayor, he worked at the District of Goslar as well as at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior. In 2014 and 2021 he was re-elected in the first round of voting each time (2021: 54.9 %).
Klingebiel is Vice President of the Lower Saxony Association of Cities and has been a member of the supervisory board of NORD/LB since 2012. The focal points of his work are the industrial transformation of Salzgitter (SALCOS, hydrogen), capable city finances, education and family, as well as cohesion in the districts.
