Experience & reliability
In times of change, a calm, experienced hand is needed. I stand for reliability – in dealing with the big issues as well as with the concerns on the ground.
Why I'm running
Less CV, more conviction: why I want to continue taking responsibility for our city in the coming years.

Personal
Dear residents of Salzgitter,
Salzgitter is my home. This is where I was born, this is where I am rooted, and this is where I have carried responsibility as Mayor since 2006. Our city grew out of salt, ore and many villages – a city of work and of getting things done. It is precisely this spirit that drives me.
We are in the midst of the greatest industrial transformation in our history. The shift to low-CO₂ steel, the hydrogen campus and the future of Volkswagen and PowerCo will determine whether secure work can still be found here tomorrow. I want to continue to guide this transformation with experience and reliability – so that change becomes opportunity and no one is left behind.
What matters to me is the concrete things on the ground: lively districts, good day-care centres and schools, a vibrant city centre, safety and cleanliness, and a city that remains able to act. Salzgitter is polycentric – every district has its own character and its own concerns. I want to be close to it all: to listen, to be there on the ground and to make sure that no district is left behind.
That is why I am running. Not because something is finished, but because the coming years will decide the future of our city – and I am ready to continue taking responsibility for it.
With my very best regards
Frank Klingebiel
Mayor of the City of Salzgitter
What I stand for
In times of change, a calm, experienced hand is needed. I stand for reliability – in dealing with the big issues as well as with the concerns on the ground.
Politics is decided in the district. It is important to me to listen and to be approachable – in every one of Salzgitter's districts.
Secure jobs and a strong industry are the foundation for everything else. I want to actively shape the transition to a future of steel and energy.
A city thrives on its solidarity – on clubs, volunteering and neighbourhoods. Strengthening this solidarity is a personal concern of mine.
